What is touch screen and how does it work?

Do you know what Touch Screen is and how it works? Most of you keep using these touch screens in your daily life. You have seen them in your Smart Phones, Computers, Laptops, ATM Kiosk etc. and must have used them. It is very easy to use them, just you have to touch the screen to do any work. Now we use these Touch Screen instead of traditional keyboard and mouse to interact with any system. Next in this post, we know more about these Touch Screen.

Even though we have been using these touchscreen for a long time, but there are many of us who still do not know how they work. What are its variants and how is it better than other non-touchscreen devices. This touchscreen is similar in appearance to a display screen but it is also an input device. They work on screen pressure because they are more sensitive to pressure, here the user touches mehzud pictures and words on the screen to interact with a computer, which creates pressure in that place and touchscreen Works according to pressure.

Due to its use, it has now become a part of our life and we are using it in all display technology. So today I thought, why should I give you complete information about what Touchscreen is and how it works so that you too can get information about this technology. Then, without delay, let's start and know what this Touch Screen is and why you should use this great technology.

Touchscreen is an electronic visual display that a user can control by touching their fingers on top of the screen, that is, they can do their work. A touchscreen gives the user a chance to interact more directly with the system than with a mouse.

The use of touchscreens has become so common now in tablet computers, smart phones and other mobile devices that manufactures are now using touchscreen in more and more devices instead of regular screens.

While we previously used keyboards and mouse in computer systems on the basis of traditional input devices, for the last few years we have been using these touchscreen technology in a big way to interact with the computer or mobile system. With this, regular laptop and desktop computers are also providing the facility of using traditional input device with touchscreen displays so that users have more options to use.

We use touchscreens in a variety of devices such as computers, laptop monitors, smartphones, tablets, cash registers, and information kiosks. In some touchscreens, instead of touch-sensitive input, a grid of infrared beams is also used to feel the presence of fingers.

History of touchscreen
The first idea about touchscreen came to E.A Johnson who at the time worked at the Royal Radar Establishment, Malvern, UK in the late 1960s. Experts believe that the first touchscreen was of capacitive type, which we currently use in our Smartphone.

After that experiments were done on touchscreen and then in the early 1970s, the first touchscreen was developed by Frank Beck and Bent Stumpe, who were engineers at CERN at that time. This physical product was first used in 1973.

In 1971, a new record in touchscreen technology was established by Doctor George Samuel Hurst, who was then an instructor at the University of Kentucky Research Foundation. He invented a touch sensor which he named 'Elograph'. In 1974, Hurst, together with his company Elographics, designed the world's first real touchscreen with a feature like transparent surface.
